Terms of Service
Last updated July 22, 2026 — draft, pending legal reviewThese terms govern your use of the Tax File Portal website and client portal. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.
The portal
The client portal lets you upload tax documents and communicate with your assigned preparer. It is a tool for exchanging information related to your tax return — it does not itself constitute tax advice or a filed return.
Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential
- You agree to provide accurate information and genuine documents
- You should notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
Engagement for tax preparation
Uploading documents through the portal does not by itself create an engagement to prepare your return. A separate engagement letter, which you'll be asked to review and accept in the portal, governs the scope of the tax preparation services we provide.
Document retention
We retain your documents in the portal for as long as needed to complete your return and to meet IRS recordkeeping requirements, after which they are securely deleted. You're encouraged to download copies for your own records.
Limitation of liability
The portal is provided "as is." While we take reasonable steps to keep it secure and available, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from its use, to the extent permitted by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the portal after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
